On Saturday, October 26 at 6:00 p.m. we will starting the evening cooking some hot dogs over an open fire and follow up with some pumpkin carving for a youth activity.  We should be done by 9:00 p.m.  We need to know how many to prepare for the cookout as well as how many pumpkins are needed so to reserve a spot for you- you MUST call the church office at 765-6031 no later than October 23rd.

On Saturday, October 26th at 1:00 p.m. our Children’s Ministry will be hosting a children’s pumpkin decorating activity.  We are inviting all children from preschool through 6th grade to enjoy this event.  Since we need to know how many pumpkins we will need, you MUST call the church office at 765-6031 and reserve your pumpkin.  PLEASE CALL NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 23.

A free basic cooking class will begin on Wednesday, October 28th at 10:00 a.m. and continue once a week for 6 weeks.  In each class, you will learn how to make foods that are quick and easy to prepare, low cost and nutritious.  You will gain hand-on experience, get plenty of recipes and lots of time-saving tips and techniques to avoid being overwhelmed in the kitchen.  Call the church office at 765-6031 to sign up!

Saturday, October 19th from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon we will be checking your car fluids, tire pressure and battery connections all for FREE!

 

This will be the last car checkup for the year so come and get your car ready for winter and enjoy some refreshments.

The Youth are holding a yard sale to help support their Compassion Child that they sponsor.  Your donations of good used children’s clothing, household items (NO LARGE FURNITURE, PLEASE), and other items can be dropped off at the youth room (near the pool table).  The UM Women are seeking donations of baked goods to help support the UM Home for Children in Mechanicsburg, PA.  A sign-up sheet is located at the welcome center for you to sign up for baked goods.  If you have any questions, please call the church office at 765-6031 or see Joline Bailey, Joan Irwin or Lisa Homan.

 

Come to the sale on Saturday, September 21st and find some goodies to buy to help support these great mission projects that Centre Grove is involved in!

 

Come and join us for our free community monthly dinner.  Please note the time change back to 4:30 p.m.  These dinners will be held indoors.  Bring your family and friends and come and enjoy a meal and fellowship together as well as a time of singing and worship.

All school aged students and adults who work in the schools are invited to bring their backpacks, totes or briefcases to our worship service.  During the service a blessing will be given for the participants and their bags to help ensure that everyone has a safe and successful school year.  Any student who needs a backpack and/or school supplies should contact the church office no later than Friday, August 23rd at noon.  Please let us know your name, phone number, how many backpacks are needed, boy or girl, age, and if school supplies are needed.

 

Campfires and hot dogs with the family is a great American tradition.  If you’ve never roasted a hot dog over a fire, we can help you do it!  Bring the kids, spouse, or friend and help us put the church deck to good use.  All the fixings and side dishes will be provided.  Of course, there will be s’mores!
